A Polite Hello
It started on Facebook Dating, back when that was a thing. Benjamin sent Heather a polite message, and the two of them hit it off immediately.
Meeting in person had to wait, though — Heather had COVID and was still recovering, so for a while it was all messages and anticipation.

When the day finally came, Benjamin drove up north to meet her, so nervous. He walked up to her door, she opened it, and the moment he saw her, his heart and mind just knew — this was something special.
They hugged, and the energy was magical. Then they went out to eat, and that first dinner together is the picture you see here.

They lived apart for a few months, and then Heather moved in with Benjamin in Peculiar.
Her son was still in school up north, which meant a ton of driving — but that's what love does.

The Proposal
A Christmas Question
Ever since they met, Christmas has been celebrated at Heather's parents' house — and her family is everything to her, so Benjamin wanted them all there for the question. His mom helped him pick out the ring a couple of months ahead of time, and only WeeWee (Heather's sister Lyndsey) knew what was coming, so she could take pictures.
He waited until nearly everyone had opened their presents, then told Heather he still needed to get hers. With everyone in their Christmas PJs and Heather sitting in her chair, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.
She said yes, and the crying commenced. Kayla probably cried more than anyone!
